Abstract

We need research for scientific advancement, to contribute to what we know or contradict what is known. We need to test theories in a systematic manner and for our results to be communicated, hopefully be replicated, and generate more questions for the future.

The research papers submitted to the PJC are either descriptive, exploratory, explanatory or correlational and could be quantitative or qualitative according to the type of data used. We are limited to these types of research as we are inclined more on being clinicians rather than researchers with budgetary constraints. In this era of the Covid 19 pandemic, our attention is centered on patient care and survival, both for ourselves and our family. Hence, research in Cardiology had to take a back seat as we grapple with the reality of this pandemic. It is with pride though that we are able to come up with enough articles for this issue of the PJC. We commend the efforts of our fellows and fellows-in- training for keeping the fire of research burning. We also have a great PJC team who work in harmony to produce something of value worthy of being read for years to come.

Mag-ingat po tayo at mabuhay tayong lahat!
